A variation on the standard West Highland Way but with stops to accommodate our health needs. This year we completed the last section from Bridge of Orchy to Fort William during September with extra stop overs, at a time of year which puts the tour operators under a lot of pressure. The month was important for us not only because of the reduction in midges because September is blood cancer awareness month and I wanted to raise awareness for the work of Anthony Nolan. A superb walk with a lot of international participation. The accommodation was perfect and even the weather was kind to us. A trip to remember.

Mickledore are so professional in putting together all the customer requirements. The route of the walk is well known but the participants are of different ages, backgrounds, accommodation requests and have individual special requirements. The complexity of something which on face value appears simple needs staff who actually know the details, and Mickledore do. The excellent information package prior to going and the knowledge that they are available if anything goes wrong means that there is complete peace of mind. A really good example of good customer first focus.

The West Highland Way is a long distance walk (96 miles) through the Scottish wild lands. We saw incredible scenery all along the way experiencing the beauty of Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Devil’s Staircase and the highlands ending in Fort William. We chose to do the walk in 9 days with a day off for site seeing in Oban. Mikledore worked hard to ensure we had excellent accommodation along the way including baggage transfer and packed lunches when available. What a memorable trip! Everything went so smoothly. Although the walk was challenging and long at times we were able to relax in the evening at our accommodations and enjoy a great meal.

We would not hesitate to use Mickledore for our next walking holiday in UK. We used them last year for two walks and now they have us hooked on long distance walking. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mickledore to design our walks. They are so quick to respond and offer experienced advice. They research information for us so we can just concentrate on preparing for the walk. Even though there was a time difference of 7 hours between our home in Canada and England this was never an issue – we still had excellent communication with Mickledore. We are hoping to travel to England next year and have Mickledore plan a walking trip for us.

We booked a five day walking tour through the Lake Distrcit which has amazing scenery. The itinerary was well organized starting with a forest walk, onto another walk of beautiful green rolling hills, and, of course, lots of lakes.

Mickledore was always responsive from my first contact over the internet to the end. The arrangements of baggage transfers, transfers for us to the beginning of trails and from the end of trails, and detailed itineraries of where to walk were all done efficiently.

We would recommend walking the Dingle Way. Good way marking, great views and a warm welcome. Easy to get to the start from Kerry airport. We have used Mickledore before and yet again they didn’t disappoint. All the travel information is clear and they are always on hand to help if needed.
