Holiday rating

We completed the Northumberland Coast Walk and the Gower Peninsula Walk in June and July 2025. We chose these 2 walks as we wanted a bit of variety for local culture, as well as wanting to spend time near the sea.

The Northumberland was relatively flat as it followed the North Sea coastline. Lots of historic structures see and many quiet sections to walk. The path was restful and peaceful.

The Gower Peninsula was a more hilly topography, with its ups and downs. The sandy climbs on the west shore opened onto wonderful sunny views of long beaches. The south shore had ever-changing, yet enjoyable weather as we traversed the small rocky canyons. And we got to experience some unique Welsh culture and history.

What helped make this double walking tour holiday even better was the groundwork put in by our tour operator, Mickeldore Travel. Their staff personally visit the accommodations and restaurants they use and recommend. They made suggestions as to adjusting our walking dates in order that we had no inconveniences due to locale. This was our 4th and 5th walking tours with Mickeldore, and they made everything work perfectly as they did the first three.

Holiday rating

THe Kerry way is a unique walking experience in the south-West of Ireland. Fantastic views and landscapes Show all the Beauty of this country,. You walk on very quiet ways away from all the busy traffic also doing the Kerry way. The prebooked B&Bs are outstanding, and the luggage transfer worked without any problem.

We already know Mickledore from out first tour „Coast to Coast“in UK and the perfectly organized cosy accomodations, the paper tour guide and the superb luggage transfer convinced uns from the First day. Therefore of course we also chose Mickledore for the Kerry Way in Ireland

We started walking from the main town and every day walked a planned section onto our next hotel. We only needed to carry day bags as our main luggage was moved on and was waiting at our next hotel.
It worked well and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

The whole trip such as hotels, and luggage transfers were arranged by Mickledore.
We were given a guide book and map on the route.
Also lots of information on shops and restaurants as well as phone numbers in case of problems or emergencies,.
The staff were always polite and helpful.
