Using Mickledore Travel we booked a walking holiday from Settle to Carlisle. This involved Mickledore booking the accommodation, taxi connections and a company to transport our cases from accommodation to accommodation. Al worked very efficiently and we were able to enjoy the walk. The weather was good and the Holiday Pack provided by Mickledore very good

We have used Mickledore for more than six walking holidays.
The service they provide is excellent and as proved on this holiday above and beyond expectations. When we had been given the the wrong keysafe code for one of the accommodations on a Sunday evening at about 5 pm. A call to Mickledore and it was sorted it in 15 minutes.
The Holiday Pack Mickledore provides was spot on as usual, very detailed information that made finding each night’s accommodation straightforward and lots of useful local information – eating, taxi, shopping etc.
As part of this walking holiday Mickledore could not find accommodation on route and arrranged – and paid for – an excellent taxi service, Peacock Taxis. The service was friendly and we were whisked us to and from the Guest House safely and efficiently.
The Mickledore App is very useful when on the move, works very well. Great to be able to access accommodation details easily online.
Mickledore just does the job so well and we have already recommended you to friends who have also enjoyed walks organised by them.
We would highly recommend Mickledore.

We had a lovely trip. The accommodation we had was on the whole excellent with three of the B&Bs beyond expectation. The walking was as expected. The longer days were hard, mainly due to the distance rather than the terrain but this was expected. We also enjoyed some great dinners along the way. Two meals taken at our B&B were memorable.

We have used Mickledore for several holidays now. We have always been pleased with the efficiency of the organisation and the accommodation used. Overall the accommodation is good to excellent. Luggage transfers have gone smoothly. So all we are left to do is to walk and enjoy the walk.

In 6 walking days, we covered approximately 75 miles through the borders region ….. a walk with lots of high vistas where you could “see forever”, passing thru many sheep pastures and and beautiful farmland, and following the peaceful Rivers Tweed and Teviot. Like all long distance walks, there were a few challenges, just enough to call it an adventure. This part of Scotland, sharing a border with England, has a long history which has shaped its strong Scottish pride. This was evident as we had the opportunity to walk town to town: Melrose, Kelso, Jedburgh , Howick and Selkirk.

This is our sixth walking holiday with Mickledore. Walking adventures by definition have a lot of “moving parts”…. any one of which can go awry . The fact that they have been successful is a testimonial to the good information and materials they have always given provided us….. especially coming from the USA.
